Oil and Gas Prospector is an oil and gas evaluations product for all types of hydrocarbon resource projects and prospects. Designed for Students and Professionals, the software provides important estimates of Hydrocarbon Fluid Properties , Oil or Gas In-Place , Production Forecasts and Economics. Rock and fluid properties such as porosity, water resistivity  and water saturations help characterize the reservoir, which include shale effects. The petroleum tools include a variety of routines such as Permeability Estimates, Darcy Flow Equations , Liquid Unloading,  Pipeline Flows and Bottom-hole Pressures.
 
Numerous project and well details are tracked , including prospective or actual well locations based on latitude and longitude (user inputs or simple map drop pins). Horizonal wellbores with surface and bottom-hole locations allow the program to estimate lateral lengths from mapped information. Shale analysis for oil or gas wells is included to estimate, well acreage spacing , recoveries and effective declines.
 
The economics section allows for most all commercial information and product production forecasts , including the use of exponential or hyperbolic declines. Economic results are summarized for well payout, cash-on-cash returns and net present value. Detailed graphs and tabular outputs are also available. A leased minerals map tool is added to estimate the acreage inside and outside of a user defined producing unit, along with quick mineral value estimates.

Without a subscription, you are still able to run calculations, but some input fields will have their value locked. The amount will be charged to your iTunes account and will vary by plan and country. In the US, the monthly subscription is $19.99 and yearly subscription is $199.99. You’ll see the total price in your local currency before completing payment.

Prospector subscriptions renew monthly or yearly depending on your plan. To avoid renewal, you must turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before your subscription ends. You can turn off auto-renew at any time from your iTunes account settings.
